Here is the composition of my proposed mural design. It is a collage of my sketches and a tonal study for the background. The sketches are 1:1 scale on butcher paper and are pre-prepared with carbon transfers for quick-and-easy application. The background being less complex will be done by eye. The color swatches show the intended palette; slightly-saturated pastels with non-absolute "blacks" and "whites".

*the only colors need provided are red, blue, yellow, black and white; essentially every color can be created from these*

1:1 scale sketches

Past Murals:

Below are a mixture of artshows and murals I've previously done to illustrate I am no stranger to working large scale. I know how to pace my abilities within time limitations and am familiar with dealing with the confines/requirements of working in a public space. The pieces in the artshows range from 3'x4' to 4'x5'. The murals include: Seafair chalk mural for a time-lapse commercial for KIRO 7. A floor mural for the play "The Altruist's " at the Seattle Center Theatre, and a logo for Bailey's Restoration.

"The 99" is a comicbook created by Naif Al-Mutawa, a Kuwaiti psychologist and entrepreneur, about a team of superheroes who's powers stem from the ancient Abbasid Empire. Released in 2006, Al-Mutawa's motivation to create the comic was the lack of positive influence and role-models for his sons. His comic has inspired an animation and even a crossover with the Justice League of America.

The term "99" comes from the 99 attributes of Allah. There are 99 super-powered beings in "the 99". Characters include Jabbar the Powerful, a teen with massive strength, Nor The Light, a girl with telepathic powers.

In direct contrast to "The Infatada Album", a sticker book marketed to children full of bloody images of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, made to fuel conflict and anger; "The 99's" social angle is to provide positive influence to the the Islamic community and the next generation of Islamic children; teaching tolerance and giving them heroes to believe in.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - "Skeletons" music video Directed by Barney Clay

Yeah Yeah Yeah's song "Skeletons", beautifully directed by director Barney Clay. The hazy black-and-white imagery, inspired by artist Tony Oursler's projection of images onto smoke, perfectly matches the feel and tone of the song, when imbued with Karen O's dancing movements that were inspired by the dance routines of modern dance pioneer Loie Fuller. The end product is a dreamlike experience of both visual and audio proportions.

Conan weds same sex couple

Longtime Conan costume designer Scott Cronick and partner David Gorshein were married by none other than Conan O'Brian himself on stage of the set of Conan. Pushing the boundaries and setting a milestone for LGBT everywhere, hopefully sets precedent for the future and things to come.
